Pay It Forward – Facebook

At the begiining of the year there was a “Handmade – Pay It Forward” challenge going around on Facebook. Sounded like fun to me. You promised to make something handmade in 2011 for the first 5 people that commented on your post.

My favorite potholders / hot pads are the ones made out of cotton loops. It’s sorta difficult these days to find the bright colored loops. Alot of what you find in the craft store are nylon and yucky. But, I found these, made by Harrisville Designs, also sold on Amazon.

I made two potholders for each of my 5 people and sent them out last week.

No, not really a catchup much, more of a restart!

We’ve built a house and moved, kids are at 3 different schools, I’m managing 2 projects at work, I’m trying to find some time to read (Teenage parenting books seem to be the topic of choice lately). Also getting the sewing room set up. I’ve been involved in a project to make quilts for folks that lost their heirloom handmade treasures in the Nashville Area flood. Rainbow Around the Block.

We have been enjoying the “wreck room”. We have a pool table, we seem to have lots of visitors, which is OK most days.

I’m ready for spring and would like to decorate this house a little bit. I would like for it to be amazing but budget friendly! 🙂
